John Klentos, Associate Professor of Orthodox Studies, recently participated in the Second Meeting of the Guerrand Hermes Forum for Interreligious Study of the Mystical and Spiritual Life held in Marrakech, Morocco. The conference was focused on two areas: "Entering the Spiritual Life" and "Spiritual Life and Daily Life." Representing the Orthodox Christian tradition, Dr. Klentos entered into dialogue with other scholars and practitioners from Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Islamic, and Sikh backgrounds. Discussion was lively and quickly led to consideration of the relationships between modern technology and living the spiritual life as well as the unique and incontrovertible truths that each religious tradition confesses.
